Basics for Babies NL

Mission Statement

Basics for Babies NL is a new program designed to increase community awareness of and raise money and/or donations for the staples of life (basic needs) of young children.

Vision Statement

Basics for Babies NL was established by a group of dedicated volunteers at The Salvation Army Pathway Community Church in Paradise, NL. Our goal is to have Basics for Babies generously supported by a host of community groups, the general public, and corporate and private donors that contribute funding. Basic for Babies is designed to bring relief to low-income and single parent families.

Why “Basics for Babies”?

If it came between choosing to pay for your rent, electric bills or formula and diapers, what would you do? For an ever growing number of hardworking, yet struggling families, this is a difficult decision they have to face.

Beneficiaries

Basics for Babies NL, through partnering with Pathway Community Church and local food banks, serves low-income and single parent families with children ages newborn through 2 years by providing nutritional formula, diapers, and other essential products for babies. Hundreds of children and families throughout our region will be assisted by the contributions from Basics for Babies through our beneficiaries: CBS/Paradise Food Bank and the St. John's Food Sharing Association. One hundred percent of all money raised and baby items donated goes directly to the beneficiaries of Basics for Babies.

How Can You Help?

What’s required: Baby formula, baby cereal, baby food, diapers and wipes are always in huge demand. Basics for Babies gratefully accepts donations of all brands of diapers of various sizes and is always in need of iron-fortified formula and special formula for premature and allergic infants, such as Nestle Good Start, Enfamil, Similac, and Bright Beginnings. You can also make a cash donation.
